Odíhg Ijànzuq (/iʤ/ /ˈənzuq/ [pick] [slow]) is a subtropical Town located in the Zåkräf Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Odíhg Ijànzuq is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Ijànzuq was founded by Merilyn Willins, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Ijànzuq has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Odíhg Ijànzuq receives an average of 168 cm/y (66 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Odíhg Ijànzuq covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5890 m (19324 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Ijànzuq was founded durring the early 15th century in winter of the year 1415, by Merilyn Willins. The establishment of Odíhg Ijànzuq was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Merilyn Willins electing to pay people to resettle in Odíhg Ijànzuq.

Odíhg Ijànzuq was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Ijànzuq is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Odíhg Ijànzuq is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive cobblestone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Odíhg Ijànzuq's robustly designed timber walls are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Odíhg Ijànzuq gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Odíhg Ijànzuq has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Cultural Notes

Life is hard in Odíhg Ijànzuq. Its people are impoverished compared to their peers elsewhere. Something is making the locals stay, however, whether fear of the alternative, hope for a better future, or a stubborn attachment to their ancestral lands. Whatver the reason, living in this harsh area for generations has made the people of Odíhg Ijànzuq a notably resourceful and hearty people.

Odíhg Ijànzuq's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is short in Odíhg Ijànzuq.

Odíhg Ijànzuq's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves orgies to channel Necromancy energies of tier 1 via throat singing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Lake Samosir began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which brought great calamity to the entire nation, killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. The disaster brought an end to people, livestock, and buildings. The disaster is referred to as the Death Wind.
